Every trip is a special trip for you. So we do not want to mess up. However since Maldives is a place of water and sands you need to be extra careful deciding how to prepare for the trip. It is a good idea if you can waterproof almost every valuable belongings. Remember that the most of the breathtaking views will be under water so why not get an action cam, most preferably a go pro or go pro session would be perfect.
Since your are a budget traveler , we do not want you to get stress on budgeting all the time. A little around $500 cash will be enough to sustain for 5 days. But I would suggest you to keep an extra $50 in case of emergency.
During the trip I have taken over 5k pictures. The breathtaking views just does not stop you from taking pictures more and more. It is extraordinary and whole amount of peace. Make sure when you are traveling Maldives, you carry a camera to bigger memory cards or buy external.

The Best flight to Catch :
There are numbers of flights that you can catch to go to Maldives. I bought using AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur while there was a Sale going on. My return ticket costs only $170. AirAsia flights are not comfortable but for a budget traveler this could be a best option.
